April 24, 2017 - Where Do We Stand

The federal and provincial governments have obligated themselves to protect the "security of the person" and the other details as presented in the "Charter of Rights and Freedoms."

Crown corporations such as Canada Revenue Agency are not compelled by legislature.

CRA, as a crown, for profit, corporation, is not obligated to to the "Charter of Rights and Freedoms" since this is Parliment issued legislature.

32. (1) This Charter applies

      (a) to the Parliament and government of Canada in respect of all matters within the authority of Parliament including all matters relating to the Yukon Territory and Northwest Territories; and

      (b) to the legislature and government of each province in respect of all matters within the authority of the legislature of each province.

This begs the question... Is government—provinical and/or federal—self-obigated to protect from abuse the rights of the public perpetrated by Crown corporations such as CRA?

Pester your MP, MPP, and any other "public servant" for the answer!
