October 30, 2014 - Subpoenaed

Pastors in Houston, Texas were served subpoenas requiring them to surrender their sermons to seek evidence of any sexual orientation bias.

Was this illegal or was it unlawful?

Houston was incorporated on June 5, 1837. Houston is a business. It is subject to all the rules, by-laws, statues, etc. written and enacted by the Corporation that incorporated it.

The same is true of the churches which were subpoenaed.

For the sake of a stupid tax deduction receipt, and the illusion of liability protection these churches incorporated (501c3). In doing so they place themselves under the authority of and subject to all the rules, by-laws, statues, etc. written and enacted by the Corporation that incorporated them.

This is altogether legal and lawful because the people asked for the privilege of being under the incorporator's rule. Render to Caesar...

If these churches were not incorporated the subpoenas would be neither legal nor lawful.

A condition of incorporation is adherence to the rules of the incorporator. So, if the incorporator says, "No discrimination on sexual orientation" then you agree to abide by that rule or face fines and/or dis-incorporation—forfeiture of all assets listed against Church Inc.

If the people operating as Church Inc., under the authority of the incorporator, decides that operating under the headship of Jesus allowed for more freedom then go for dis-incorporation now and start over… "born again" if you will.

As to whether a stupid tax receipt is sufficient reward for your givings as compared to the reward the Father offers, you be the judge—17% of your givings or 30, 60, 100 fold…

As to liability protection, "I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
